Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding all those who use our club facilities, ensuring they can do so in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment.

The club safeguarding Officer will be appointed this year (2024). Contact details will appear here once in place. It is a requirement that they hold a DBS check in the name of their National Governing Body ie Bowls England. They will have also completed the training recommended by Bowls England for all Safeguarding Officers.

(Bowls England Regulation 2.5.2): ‘We adopt and follow all policies and guidelines approved by Bowls England and UK Anti-Doping. We follow all procedures set out in Bowls England Regulation 9, 9A and 9B. We will abide with all sanctions, recommendations and/or decisions from the Case Management Panel or National Disciplinary Panel.’

Bowls England works in partnership with the Bowls Development Alliance, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd, English Short Mat Bowling Association, English Bowling Federation and the British Crown Green Bowling Association to provide relevant safeguarding advice and training to Clubs and County Associations.
Bowls Devon has implemented effective county level procedures in accordance with the approved Safeguarding Bowls Policy, including the promotion of education and training across the county.

Following the guidance from Bowls England and Bowls Devon, Combe Martin Bowling Club will implemented club level safeguarding procedures once our safeguarding officer is in place.
